Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem Welcome a Child
Oscar winners Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have a new co-production. Over the week-end, Cruz delivered their first child, a boy. The child remains un-named as of yet.
Revealing she was pregnant last September, after being spotted on the set of “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”. Shortly after, her husband said that he was very happy about becoming a father. The couple, notorious for being reclusive of their private life, have started dating in 2007, but kept their relationship out of the public eye.
The news of the new born comes right after the father’s nomination at the Oscar’s Best Actor category, for his role in the Best Foreign-Language Film nominee, “Biutiful”. Bardem says: It’s really a huge honour to have been nominated in a non-English speaking performance and […] I want to show my gratitude to the Academy for support and a recognition in this nomination”
